Biography

Ernie Durbin is Chief Valuation Officer at Voxtur. As CVO, Durbin leverages the strengths of Voxtur's technologies and develops new solutions for the valuation industry. Durbin has been instrumental to the invention of technology and methodologies that power Voxtur's proprietary valuation products. Additionally, Durbin has leveraged his 40 years of real estate valuation experience to expand Voxtur Valuation Services into portfolio review and due diligence.

Durbin holds the distinguished CRE designation from The Counselors of Real Estate. This designation is extended by invitation only to practitioners who have proven expertise in superior problem-solving capabilities in the field of real estate. Real Estate Counseling is the act of providing advice or guidance which significantly affects real estate decisions, without personal bias and/or conflict of interest.

Ernie Durbin also holds the SRA and AI-RRS designations from the Appraisal Institute. With the Institute he has served on several special projects and is an advisor for the Appraiser Diversity Initiative (ADI). ADI is a nationwide program designed to attract new entrants to the real estate appraisal field while fostering diversity in the profession. At the national level, Ernie was a former member of the Appraisal Practices Board of The Appraisal Foundation. He also serves on the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) of the Appraisal Foundation.

Ernie is on the Executive Council of the Collateral Risk Network (CRN), a network of “thought leaders” within the valuation profession. Members of the CRN elected Durbin to receive the 2018 Valuation Visionary award.  The Valuation Visionary award is in recognition of a collateral valuation professional who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and professionalism. Winners are nominated by their peers within the Collateral Risk Network.

With the National Association of Realtors, Ernie holds the Residential Accredited Appraiser designation (RAA) and serves on the Real Property Valuation Committee. The Real Property Valuation Committee evaluates issues related to real property valuation and makes policy recommendations to the National Association of Realtors, and other Industry Stakeholders.

In private appraisal practice, Ernie specializes in identifying and solving complex residential valuation problems in the Greater Cincinnati Area. Complex valuation services include specialized appraisals such as relocation, review, REO, and forensic assignments.

Ernie Durbin is married to Velina, and they have four children ranging in age from 27 to 37.
